All they have is his DNA sample as "proof".  They could have gotten that off of one of his tapes they found just lying around.  For all we know this was his faked death so that he can go back to living his life.  His family is rich as sin, and who cares what they publicly say about him, he could very well be chilling with them in a palace, with a shave.

pbhead, do you ever ask the question, Why? Or is your life predicated on truth by consensus?  Truth by consensus may feel like a safe position, but it has no bearing in a debate.  It doesn't matter how many people believe a lie when in fact it is a lie.  Using common sense and critical thinking will enlighten you of the fact that osama bin laden is a poster that is covering many things.

Common sense states that Bin Laden is dead.  D...E...A...D... dead.  Do you really think the radical terrorist groups would not want to gloat about him being alive and well if he were in fact alive?  The conspiracy theory that he's being held captive by the US in secret would have more credibility than simply his death being faked so he could live on safely in secrecy.  The whole point of sending in a SEAL team to retrieve a body is to make sure that it was in fact him.  As for his DNA, it was compared to known DNA from family members.  Logically it wouldn't make sense to make false claims about killing him.  In the age of integrated network technology information about the falsehood would spread like wildfire and be the talk of the year in no time.  He is dead.

This just in - Osama bin Laden is still dead.  Officials confirm that his condition is stable and unchanged!

(sorry, SNL just got to me).

In his defence he wasnt across the american border on Sep/11 and was in his cave having a hot cup of tea. Why so sirious? -he says (The joker). In all fairness no ones deserves a bullet in the head unless of-course there playing russian roulette. Where the Russians involved in the September 11th attacks? (Conspiracy Theory)

Apparently they shot him in the face. CIA officials are investigating whether it was out of spite for searching for him for so long or crossfire. The special team that entered the compound is under questioning whether the shot was accidental or intended (in the name of call duty ethics: head shots only?). Seriously though the man finely got pawnd. Die camper (call duty fans applaud).

Wow. I would have expected this post to have dissolved into mindless flaming by now, but it seems to have stayed pretty stable!

I'm not saying I'm not glad that America's myopic obsession with just one guy out of many guys that has been jackhammered into my head since the second grade is finally ending (or that the MassMurderes-- isn't nice), but what scares me is that Bin Laden seems to have gone relatively soft in his old age, walled up in his cushy little compound while Al Qaeda did nothing special, while his 2nd in command (Aymen Al Zawahari (sp?)) is just dumb enough to not save his own skin and dedicated to avenging his buddy's memory. This whole shebang could end up being a Very Bad Thing for world stability further on down the road.

And I'm not usually one top buy into (or formulate) conspiracy theories, but I think it's just a little bit of a big coincidence that that second helicopter suffered "mechanical faliures" right in Bin Laden's compound. It sounded a lot more like it got shot down when the line was that people were shooting at it from the roof, but throughout this entire morass of stories that one explanation has been unusually constant.

I claim no special knowledge, but from the satellite and ground photos of the wreckage, I'm guessing that the pilot hadn't quite cleared the fence when he set it down and the tail section impacted it.  I imagine depth perception could be tricky with night vision imaging gear.  A 'soft' drop of only 8-10 feet (rotors still turning & providing lift) would explain why none of the Seals were seriously hurt.  The physical evidence doesn't support the idea that it was shot down.

The bulk of the helo wreckage was inside the fence on the sat view.  It's not clear from the published ground level photos of the tail rotor whether it was outside the fence or inside; I'm guessing outside.

k, that sounds reasonable.

The moral of the story is Osama Bin Laden was a decepticon.

on May 12, 2011

The moral of the story is that you need to stop being a nerd.

I cannot say anything helpful on this matter. It is all speculation on what is going to happen next.

Oh come on, nothing nerdy. Its the truth. All the characteristics are there. I have reason to believe this isnt the last time we will hear of him. He will be ressurected in some form or manner. u wait and c

Personally, I am happy that Osama bin laden is dead.  He was responsible for many innocent deaths / murders.  Based on the folks  i interact with  ... i don't think we were madly rejoicing in a vengeful manner... but rather relieved that one serious threat to our safety has been diminished.

As far as heaven, hell, eternal destiny, etc., goes, i have two things to contribute to our shared experience on this forum.

1)   The death of any person,  no matter how reviled by some people, is still a hurtful loss for family and friends that cared for that person.  Their sense is loss is just as real as ours when we lose someone close to us.  I wish them grace and pray for the day they decide its better to teach their children how to respect ALL humans, and put their energies towards making this world a better place for us all.   .  But lets also cheer "USA."

2)  A joke follows....   yes, osama did arrive in heaven to get his 39 (forget exact number...) virgins.  Too bad they were nuns toting machine guns....
