This is quite the mysterious site. "Photos and newspaper clippings: tell whats been going on, and well as the guy whos been following it all. I believe it is updated daily. The URL is www.somethinginthesea.com.

I believe it is the former. Just look at the picture.

Isn't that story on the site interesting?

Thanks for the pic, Resis_the_dawn. Now we can all see what that thing was.

I just have one question, will the sequel be best played with melee weapons as an invincible character too?

Whos knows the game isnt gonna be out for while.

And, 2k boston just said that everything in Game Informer about Bioshock 2 is fake!!!

It seems the story cycle is over. There are no more bits of story being put up there anymore. They did reveal what the thing looked like though.

A quick clarification. They said that the Game Informer stuff was true. Things are getting kind of confusing now.

Is this going to be a fully linear FPS game which wouldn't be out of place being played in a similar manner to the ancient Operation Wolf or an actual decent game with multiple branching paths, actual, different endings not some 20s of pre-rendered crap if you so much as kill one of the little gits?  Because, I think I'll wait for it to hit the absolute bargin bin if it is.  You can tell just how impressed I was with BioShock can't you... a classic case of "more story, less pretty".

System Shock II was better than Bioshock.

Or better to say, Bioshock was a completely dumbed down version of System Shock II and/or Deus Ex.

Unlike BioShock, which had Ryan and whatever his face was (shows how memorable the villan was).  SHODAN was actually scary.

SHODAN wants meat off its lawn.

What's SHODAN?

What's SHODAN?

You are kidding right?  SHODAN the main protagonist in both the System Shock games.  You generic insane AI that likes to tinker with cybernetics and biologics.  And sounds utterly fruit loop when it speaks.

Ah, I see now. I never played System Shock 1 or 2.

You should definitely hunt down SS2.  SS1 is hard to play (it's from the era of FPSs before mouse controls were really accepted), but SS2 plays like a modern FPS with really, really nice RPG elements.

It's also home to my single favorite moment in gaming, ever. Spoiler below:

Okay ... Can't figure out how this board does spoiler blocking, so ... avert your eyes?

When you're hunting through ... the engineering section on the first ship (IIRC), and you come into the area between two of the "warehouses," and you find the body on the ground.  You walk closer, and you get the ghost, where the guy is basically crying and apologizing for not being able to get out, and how he won't let the monsters get him.  Then he stands up, makes the sign of the Cross, and kills himself.  I still get shivers thinking of it.
