Why does the recent post area of the homepage not refresh itself?

This has been going on ever since the forum was revamped. I assumed that the forum people were working on this. They clearly haven't. Can the forum people fix this?

I could be wrong but the recent post section only lists recent posts as in "new" posts. I have never seen it update.
