what the @##$$%%# just got back from work and i cant believe what I just read. I totally agree with everyone except YOOU general. WOW! The things that happen while I'm at work  . Everyone just needs to remember, these are nothing but words on a screen. It's not like your going to go duke it out in the school yard. If the opinions and statements of strangers hundreds or thousands of miles away offend you, then maybe you've led a little too sheltered a life. Wheel had never attacked me personally, but what difference would it have made anyway. Just ignore it and go on.
btw: This is a general statement not directed at anyone specific, but just my view of the stupidity that is forum flaming. Could there be a more useless waste of time.

There is a lot of truth in this statement. However, on the flip side you could use this argument to excuse *any* behavior. Clearly being too quick to take offense can be just as bad as being too quick to give offense. But that doesn't mean that being too quick to give offense should be blameless.

I do believe there is truth in this as well.

Look what i'm saying is, no matter what you post, there will be someone who has a different opinion, it doesn't always have to end up like this, i have had many an argument on here without it getting out of hand. Granted you may not have known Wheel's style, but your "schoolboy" response was no less abusive than his. You said you don't like people being rude, though you went down that road yourself...(one that i'm more than happy to travel)

Anyway, take 90% of the things in this forum with a grain of salt. Half the stuff you read and find offensive, is just a misunderstanding and the other half, well give it back to them!

Epictetus (if the name didn't give it away) was a 1st century Greek Stoic philosopher. The ideas in this book have kept men alive in the most deplorable conditions.
